National Framework for Climate Services (NFCS) in Africa
The National Framework for Climate Services (NFCS) is rooted in the WMO’s Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS). It provides a country-led platform designed to improve the generation, coordination, and user-oriented delivery of weather, climate, and hydrological services. The core aim is to mainstream science-based climate information into decision-making across sectors like agriculture, water management, health, disaster risk reduction, and infrastructure. The framework emphasizes stakeholder collaboration, capacity development, observation and monitoring infrastructure, and tailored climate service products across key sectors.
